Is tirzepatide better than semaglutide?
In one direct randomized trial, yes, on the outcomes it measured. Nearly 1,900 people with type 2 diabetes took tirzepatide or semaglutide for about nine months; every tirzepatide dose beat semaglutide's 1 milligram dose on blood sugar control, and the highest tirzepatide dose produced up to 5.5 kilograms more weight loss. One caveat matters: the semaglutide dose used, 1 milligram, is lower than the 2.4 milligram dose approved for weight loss specifically.
