Why does semaglutide stop working?

This site does not hold a citation that measures when semaglutide stops working for one person, or that names a tolerance clock. What it holds is how long the trials ran: STEP 1 to 68 weeks, OASIS 4 to 64 weeks, STEP UP to 72 weeks, SELECT for cardiovascular events over a mean 39.8 months in 17,604 adults, and evoke to 104 weeks for Alzheimer's, where the drug did not slow decline. An average weight-loss curve that flattens inside a trial window is not the same finding as the drug failing. Common non-drug reasons a person might see less change include missed doses, a change in food intake, and a research-chemical vial that is not the labeled pen. Those are clinical questions, not a date this FAQ will invent. Talk with the clinician who prescribed it. Full record at /compounds/semaglutide.
